Listen carefully. Do you hear it? No? Oh, that’s because there isn’t anything to hear!! The kids are off for the night, staying with our friend. So far it’s been bliss. (I won’t lie, it was a little hard to say goodbye to Drew. He’s still fairly young - 18 months - so I worry a bit more about him. Sophia’s used to staying over places, so it’s not so difficult with her.)
We went to dinner, then did a little Christmas shopping. Nothing too exciting there. Soon we’ll be heading to the hot tub, then we’ll watch 40-year old virgin. Hope it’s good! Yeah, we’re old. Instead of going out to drink or whatever, we want to be at our house, alone, doing what we want, when we want. No worrying about other’s needs. (But, I’ll be worrying a little bit about Drew. He’s my little baby.
) Of course, we’re also looking forward to sleeping in! Yay for sleeping in, not having kids climb in bed with you, and sleeping through the night.
On another note, Sophia decided today that she is ready for a big girl bed. She’s in a toddler bed, but appears to be getting to long for it. (She fits, but not by a lot.) I’m so excited, and I don’t know why. Ron and I talked about putting the bed in her room tomorrow while she’s gone. Then when she gets back, she’ll have a big girl princess bed. We’ll move the toddler bed to Drew’s room, along with the crib. We aren’t sure we’re ready for that transition, but we might try doing naps in it, just to see how it goes. (He loves that bed. He loves going into her room, climbing on the bed, laying down on the pillow, and covering himself with the blanket. He’ll look at you with this huge smile. He’s so proud of himself!)
Well, off we go for hot tubbing! (Nothings better than hot tubbing in the winter in MN. Especially if it’s snowing, which it’s not.)
PS - It’s Dec. 15 at 7:09 pm. We’re half-way through this Dec. thing and I’m still in the running for the pimp cup. Go me!
