Drew, 9 Months

Just got Drew’s 9 month pictures back and wanted to share. He is by far the cutest little guy I know. (Perhaps I’m a little biased.) We don’t own a scanner, so you’ll have to settle for a picture of a picture.

I’ve also been working on a blog entry in my head for the last few days. Hopefully I’ll actually get it written and posted prior to our leaving for Florida on vacation Sat.

Hm, wonder if this will work… A picture of Drew when he was just 3 months old.

Do You Want It?!

My brother and SIL have a son that is 5 months younger than Drew. Since Drew is our last child (or, so we believe), I’ve been giving them stuff as we’re done with it. (Well, I haven’t given them the REALLY nice things. I’m still deciding if I want to keep that stuff, sell it, or give it to someone I really like and think would really appreciate it.) I think what I’m doing is quite generous, and not something I have to do. (After all, I bought all of the stuff and I’m giving it to them without asking for anything - except appreciation - in return.)

My brother came by the other day and I tried giving him 2 grocery bags full of clothes and toys. His response: “SIL will come by tomorrow to see what she wants.” Um, hi. I’m trying to be nice/helpful. Just take it all! If you don’t want something, give it to someone else. The point of getting rid of it is to: a) help them out, b) get it out of my house, and c) see it used by my nephew. My thought is that if someone offers you a bunch of stuff, take it all and be appreciative! If there something(s) in there that you don’t want, get rid of it. But take what you are offered. Maybe I’m wrong, but argh…

Of course, it doesn’t help that I have issues with SIL any way. We don’t fight or anything, and are quite pleasant to each other. But I feel like she is so judgemental and shallow. It’s like when you talk to her she’s really not listening. I hate that. She has this abrasive way of confronting issues. Instead of approaching the person gently and with sincerity, it’s done with a personal attack. Again, I hate it.

Okay, just had to get that off my chest. :)

We Bought a New Camera

Yes, that’s right. It seems that most everyone is buying a new one and I didn’t want to feel left out. Okay, so that’s not really why I bought a new one. See, it turns out DH (though he won’t admit it) lost our camera while we were at the zoo last month. That’s the last time we remember having it. We kept hoping it would appear some where around here, but it hasn’t. And since I have this obsession to take pics of the kids as they are little (so we’ll always have the memories) we bought a new one.

And who knew it would be so difficult to choose one? We decided to research two cameras in particular: Can*non Power*ShotA620 and So*ny Cyber*Shot P-200 (which is being discontinued because a new one is coming out). We had a So*ny and liked it, but had heard good things about the Can*non. After much deliberation, we went with the So*ny. I cannot wait for it to get here. I’ve been DYING to take pics of the kids lately, but no camera means no pics. Anywho, I’m glad we finally decided and made the purchase.

We’ve also received our new iM*ac and iP*od Na*no. The Na*no is actually mine, too! The iM*ac is more for DH, though we’ll both be using it. (We still have our laptops, but the iM*ac is much better and faster! It’ll be nice to do work on.)

Speaking of work, this month has been very nice work-wise. I’ve put in some good hours and that will make a big difference to us financially. It feels good to be financially contributing to the family, if that makes sense. Too often I feel like I’m not doing enough to support the family (and how silly is THAT?). So when I do work and bring in some money, I feel very good about it. Now if I could only make enough to buy that new minivan I’ve been eyeing… hehe

First Step!

Drew took his first step yesterday evening! I was laying on the ground with both kids. They were jumping on the floor, using me as a support. (Sophia was just copying Drew who uses anyone/thing on the floor to balance.) Ron said, “Drewie come here.” He stood on his own, took one step, then fell! We were so shocked and suprised!! He’s been doing a ton of cruising and assumed he’d walk relatively soon, but I did not expect a first step. He did it two more times last night. Today he’s stood on his own more than he ever has, and took a step once, but… I’m guessing he’ll be walking within a month for sure!

Long Time, No Blog

Yeah, I’ve been a bit absent lately, huh? It all started when a lovely little bug decided to make its way into our family. Sophia got it first, at midnight, puking. Ron and I teamed up to get her and her bed/room all cleaned up. We did. Only to have her puke again. Rinse and repeat. Until it was 4 am and we ran out of bedsheets for her toddler bed. We brought her into our room and every time she coughed, Ron held her over the trash can. I ended up sleeping in Drew’s room from about 5 am until he woke up at 6 am. Ugh…

Then…it was awful. I got it! Right as Ron was about to leave for work. So, Ron stayed home from work and took care of all of us. Two sick kids, and one well kid (Drew). Not only did he take care of us, but he got a TON of housework done. He did 3 loads of laundry, a load of dishes, and cleaned the kitchen and family room. Seriously, I was AMAZED!!! And, I told him so. I was so appreciative.

I felt much better, but not 100% the whole week. It was bad. I was so thankful when I started feeling 100% again. But then, I was so behind on all the day to day stuff that I just needed time to stop for a minute or two. It didn’t, and we all managed to continue living. hehe

On a fun note… My iPod Nano came last week!! It’s a black, 4GB one. I have some songs on it, but not as many as I need/want. I need to create playlists and all that jazz. I’m anxious to get a playlist set up for the kids so I can stop listening to Bar*ney all the dang time!

And, Ron is anxiously awaiting his new iMac. It was supposed to be here yesterday, but due to “circumstances out of their control” is won’t be here until Tuesday. Ron’s saddened by this, but it does give us a little time to get a desk for it. (And don’t tell him, but I’m excited about it, too. It’ll be in the room right next to our family room and will be faster/better than my laptop.)

Oh, and we went to look at digital cameras today. See, we LOST ours!!! We went to the zoo, with the kids, and took cute pictures of said kids, only to realize that we LOST it that day. :( I was sooo sad. Anyways, it looks like we’ll either be getting a So*ny Cyber-*Shot or Can*non A620. We’re leaning towards the So*ny (that’s what our last one was, but DH would like one with a better optical zoom). Any thoughts from people out there?

Well, the baby cries so I must go…
