The Tax Man
Yep, that’s who we’re going to see today. I always get a little nervous about doing our taxes. I’m always afraid we’re going to find out that we owe so much more than we’ll have. What’s crazy about this is that we’ve only had to pay in a couple times (and that’s when I was self-employed and not paying taxes until tax time).
Then I get excited, wondering how much we’ll get back. Planning what we could do with the money. Then thinking about what we SHOULD do with the money. Like, we’d love to buy a new iMac to put downstairs. Ron’s laptop is slowly dying, and he’d like a desktop. We have the perfect place for it, close to where we all hang out, but we can close some doors to make it more quiet. But, we had to replace our furnace last month. We took out a Home Equity Line of Credit to pay. So we should pay that back. Or put money in savings, or into the kids college funds. But I always want to do fun stuff with it.
Oh well, here’s to hoping we get good news from the tax man. And perhaps enough to do the things we should do as well as the things we should do…

Gak! Thanks for reminding me that I need to call my CPA neighbor. He’s doing individual taxes on the side, so I’m going to try to bribe him with baking in return for some help.
